I finished Shane yesterday.

I was SO sad that Shane left.... but it was kind of expected after all. he didn't really quite belong, being the person he is. I just wish that he would have had a proper goodbye with the Starretts. and i really wish that the book told where Shane was from and how/why he came to the valley- why he was so experienced, why he was so scared to pick up his old gun again. i guess he might have killed people and suffered for it somehow (but escaped or w.e.) but i'm glad that Joe didn't go face Fletcher. he probably would have died. i hope Shane doesnt die though! i mean, who could survive with a bullet in your stomach?? 0_0
