i was reading the book for normal english- "April Morning", and i thought that Adam's dad (moses cooper) and Kit's uncle, matthew wood, were very very similar. they both are very politically opinionated, and want to get free from the British. they're both express themselves really strongly about those things, as well as preaching to their families about being "God-fearing people" (not saying it's bad, but in their case they're making a WAY too big deal out of it) and they also live in small towns, and they're both really stiff and rarely, if not at all, show any affection to anybody. but deep down they love their families a lot and are doing what they think is right for their families and for their country.
